Testing the electronic membrane switches or HMIs after they are assembled and before they ship is a critical step in our process. Custom Electrical Circuit Testing


To ensure proper functionality of printed electronics, JRPanel  has developed custom electrical circuit testers. The testers can be used to measure and test membrane switches, printed circuit and other printed electronics. Every key, LED, and component of the membrane switch is tested before it is carefully packaged and shipped out the door. JRPanel offers circuit testing on 100% of our printed electronics components.

JRPanel is equipped with a variety of custom design vision systems for part inspection. The systems utilize specialized vision tools for measurement and visual defect inspection, which enables JRPanel to ensure the conformity of various manufactured parts.

What Are the Factors That Affect the Cost of a Membrane Switch?

  "How much does it cost to make a membrane switch? ”  It ’ s a common question we get from customers (and likely one you ’ re pondering if you ’ re reading this article). Unfortunately, the short answer is … it depends.   Since membrane switches are custom-made and include so many variables, it ’ s not feasible to provide a clear-cut estimate without first reviewing the specifications and discussing a few areas. However, based on our experience, three main factors impact the cost of manufacturing a membrane switch.   1.  Circuit design   The printed circuit is the most expensive layer of a membrane switch. Material choices and design (such as the number of traces) can significantly impact the unit ’ s cost. High-quality membrane switches typically use conductive silver ink, which provides the highest conductivity. Depending on application and budget requirements, lower-conductive inks such as carbon, copper, and alloys can be used.   2.   Number of layers and optional features
